Andre Phinnessee, VP of Strategic Planning & Operations
Andre, a Bolivar, TN native is an Industrial Engineer with a background in process improvement consulting, project management, and problem solving. He received his B.A. in Industrial Engineering from the University of Tennessee. While at the University of Tennessee, he served as leadership in several organizations and became a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. Upon graduation, he moved to the Atlanta metro area and has gained engineering experience in the automotive, food & beverage, and bedding manufacturing industries. In 2014, he co-founded InVIG, LLC a process improvement consulting company based in Atlanta, GA where his team provides process re-engineering, cost saving strategies, project management, and overall procedural structures to various industries. More recently, he founded Phinnessee Photography where he provides photography services to customers nationwide. Andre’s belief is that it is his duty and responsibility to educate his community and to provide his expertise as guidance to the future generation. He believes that once an individual realizes that they must be the change that they seek, they must own the responsibility of passing that knowledge to the next person
Charisse Price is a marketing and management professional whose career has spanned the private and public sectors across the east coast of the United States. Ms. Price’s ultimate goal is to improve the quality of life of others. She believes in living a life of compassion, by treating others well because it’s the right thing to do. Ms. Price believes compassion is its own reward and tries to instill the value of “compassionate governance” in all of her work. The philosophy of “compassionate governance” has led Ms. Price to serve as an active volunteer tutor in the Fulton County jail for the past three years, and in leadership positions with several organizations that focus on leadership development, urban youth, and community impact. Ms. Price is also a proud member and alumna of various organizations, including: New Leaders Council, the Junior League of Atlanta, Everybody Wins! Atlanta, and the United Way of Greater Atlanta Volunteer Involvement Board Training Program. In 2010, Ms. Price was selected as a National Urban Fellow. Through this prestigious academic and leadership development program, she served as a special assistant at the Philadelphia Redevelopment Authority, where she worked on a team commissioned by the mayor to create new vacant land management policies. Ms. Price eventually transitioned to a contract position with the Philadelphia Water Department where she currently manages minority and women inclusion compliance on multi-million-dollar construction projects. Prior to that, she worked in marketing for The Coca-Cola Company. Ms. Price graduated from the University of New Orleans with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing. Her drive and determination allowed her to work full time while earning a Master of Business Administration from the University of Georgia and eventually a Master of Public Administration from Baruch College – City University of New York, all before the age of 30. In her free time, Ms. Price enjoys practicing yoga, playing kickball, spending time with family and friends, and watching football.
Jessica Wilson, Programs Committee
Jessica Wilson is a Pittsburgh, PA native. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh. While there, she was an active member in organizations such as the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), the Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE), and the Society of Women Engineers (SWE). Upon graduation, Jessica began her career in the nuclear industry, and has held positions in varying industries since. In 2012, she moved to the Greater Atlanta Region to escape the cold. She has recently completed her Master’s degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering at the University of Florida, and is a 2017 MBA candidate at the University of Florida, as well. As an Industrial Engineer with over 7 years of experience, Jessica has a passion for making people, processes, and technology more efficient, and she looks to inspire under represented youth to join careers in STEM fields, as well. She has experienced being the only person of color as well as the only woman in both classroom and workplace settings, and has made it her personal goal to help change the “typical engineer” narrative.
Kendrell Jones, Volunteer Management Committee
Kendrell Jones is a seasoned IT Professional with nine years of experience in supporting high caliber clients. After attending Eastern Michigan University, he has improved his skill-sets by pursuing certifications with Microsoft, ITIL v3 and Citrix. Kendrell is currently an Technical Relationship Manager at Citrix Systems. He has obtained notable achievements while working for Citrix Systems and Philips Healthcare. While employed at Philips Healthcare Kendrell participated in numerous projects that improved business processes that gain widespread visibility. While he has volunteered his time to various organizations in feeding the Homeless, Food Banks, Toys for Tots and assisting the youth in Michigan and Cobb and Gwinnett counties Kendrell wants to continue the initiative of helping others.
Shamiah T. Kerney is motivational, ambitious, energetic, and personable, but most of all is a visionary and a change agent. A native of Long Beach, California, Shamiah attended Clark-Atlanta University, and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice. She also earned a Paralegal Certification from the University of San Diego in San Diego, California. After working as a paralegal for several large law firms in Metro Atlanta, Shamiah returned to Clark-Atlanta University where she then earned a Master’s in Public Administration, concentrating in Community and Economic Development. Shamiah has a passion for public policy, thus propelling her to a career in public service. She is currently employed as a Senior Analyst at the United States Government Accountability Office (GAO) with the Financial Markets and Community Investment team. As a part of this team, Shamiah conducts program audits and evaluations at the request of Congress for federal programs related to housing, disaster assistance, insurance, small business assistance, and U.S. financial systems. Shamiah is also active in the community, volunteering in various organizations such as Hands on Atlanta the Children’s Restoration Network, Atlanta Speaks and many others. Shamiah also serves the executive board of the National Forum for Black Public Administrators as the Chair of the Emerging Leaders Council.
Jasmine Davis is a PRSA Phoenix Award winning public relations and marketing professional specializing in speaker procurement, event management, client relations and social media strategy both domestically and internationally. Ms. Davis currently serves as event marketing manager and brand strategist at Lectra North America, a software design and manufacturing technology solutions company based in Atlanta, GA. Before joining Lectra, she was global events and PR manager at AirWatch by VMWare, a leading provider of enterprise-grade mobility solutions. Ms. Davis enjoys giving back to the community and often volunteers her time to organizations such as Open Hands, Trees Atlanta, Ahimsa House and the Children’s Health Care of Atlanta. She is a graduate of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville with a bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies with a minor in Journalism and Electronic Media.
